Beneath the Pier
Limited edition of 25 per size
About this photograph
A clear day at the pier, wide open water on both sides. I wanted the whole scene in one frame — not just the pier, but the size of the ocean next to it. There is a specific kind of peace that comes from the Southern California coastline on a clear day. I captured this panoramic view to hold the full sweep of the beach, the pier stretching into the Pacific, and the quiet moments of people just slowing down to enjoy the sun.
About this place
Ocean Beach, California
Ocean Beach meets the Pacific at San Diego’s western edge, where the concrete fishing pier has long shaped the neighborhood’s horizon. Built in 1966, the pier became both a gathering place and a landmark for anglers and visitors. Beneath its repeating columns, shifting tide and reflected light turn the structure into a changing frame for the coast.
